We met Nancy when we visited the homes of all the teachers at Valley of Truth. Her youngest sister, Esther, is our youngest teacher. We found Esther, Carolyne, and Nancy living in a squalid environment, and knew the moment we met them that all three of them belonged in the VOT family. The very next day, we called and asked Carolyn and Nancy to come to the school to talk about helping us by relieving some of the burden on the teachers and staff.
Nancy immediately became indispensable to us, helping with the kitchen duties and potty patrol. Can you imagine what that entails with so many little ones (82 at the time, now 120) using ONE bathroom (now TWO)? We have a row of 7 or 8 little plastic potties lined up to expedite the process.
Nancy works tirelessly, whether it is mopping the floor, doing the laundry, helping Nixon and Modester out at their house, buying the food – anything that is asked of her, she does willingly and graciously. Oh, how we love Nancy!!
Because of the blessing of now having a job and a clean place to live in the Orange House, Nancy has been able to bring her son from Western Kenya to live with her. God is good! All the time!
